It's 11:38pm. Church is tomorrow. The apartment has grown very quiet with the exception of the neighbors next door whose gaming system, I'm assuming, is pumping through their too loud sound system. YB's oversized clock now has a batter driving the 60 second clock. It's another sound to get used to when all is quiet like tonight.
I'm waiting for the phone to ring. Some old church friends were kind enough to let YB rent a room until she heads north for the wedding in October (97 days!). They are super nice people with cool kids. The only downside is they live 25 minutes away. Tonight is the first night she is driving back alone which makes me a bit nervous. So I'm waiting for her to call when she is close to arriving.
The ol' blog won't turn into a wedding blog, I'm just in a reflective kind of mood tonight. Or thoughtful. Maybe. Maybe I should have my vitamin regimen that I never took today. That sounds like a good idea. Maybe I should consider taking a B vitamin complex. I've heard that's good for you. All you North Carolinian folks can weigh in on that one. Then I can start filling out a questionnaire type thing. That sounds like a plan. My air conditioning should shut off shortly after I start, followed by the phone call. After the call the apartment will grow quiet again, filled with sounds from the neighbors next door and a clicking second hand and the footsteps of myself going to bed.

Circa 28 years later, after 28 years of marriage.
CP: I want to go to the fabric store.
Babba: I'll drop you off and go get ice cream. Call me when you're done.
CP:Fine.
I'm at the store for 25 minutes staring at the ice cream freezer like some diabetic with an ice cream fetish. Finally, I call her and get her voice mail. I decide to just check out and risk the wrath of a harried fabric shopper. I'm hoping the ice cream won't melt while I wait outside. I'm trying to negotiate the self-checkout when my cell rings and it's CP: "I'm ready" click!
I drive up and CP is waiting outside the closed store; she forgot her cell phone, and had to use the store phone, she was done 20 minutes ago and it's somehow my fault.
In 28 years, your 25 minute wait for that phone call will change from anxiety about her safety to concern that:
1. she forgot her phone
2. she's STILL fabric shopping
3. if I go wait at the store the ice cream will melt!
WHAT SHOULD I DO?????
Vitamin regimens. Nothing quite like pissing 90% of your money down the drain.
Thomas, Vitamin B complex ain't such a bad supplement to take. "It does a body good." Cheaper and better for ya than the stuff I used to consume....beer, ale, mixed drinks, liquor straight up only to either throw it up, leak it out, or suffer the results of terrible hangovers.
Jon: Vitamin D is important, especially in the Winter when you don't get 20 minutes of direct sunlight a day A good multi vitamin (without iron) and a B-Complex should suffice for a young buck like yourself. If you buy your vitamins at Sam's Club you can save a lot.
I'm an old fart so I take anti-oxidants like flax-seed oil, fish oil, Vit C and E. I also take glaucosimine/chondroitin for my knees and red yeast for cholesterol.I also take luetine for my eyes. All this crap only cost me about a dollar a day from Sam's.
When you turn forty you can think about taking a baby aspirin every day and taking anti-oxidants. The key is to take care of your own health since socialized medicine is coming. Keep your nutrition views to yourself, it's worse than talking about politics or religion.
"Mom, the doctor took my pulse."
"Yeah? What was it?"
"46"
"What?!"
"Yeah, he said, 'guess you're a runner."
;)
Thanks Babba. I'm taking Calcium and D (since I don't drink milk and work in a cave), C, and a flaxseed/fish oil/borage something or other. The latter is combined into one. I'll look at a good B-Complex. Would the Luetine be overkill?
Yes, the luetine would be overkill. It's for older people with a family history of retina problems (like Babba).
Lots of changes coming at you. Of course you're gonna be reflective once in a while. You're just adjusting...
